Presenter: Matt Dube, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Data Science, University of Maine at Augusta and Chair, Maine GIS User Group
Description: With the modern deluge of data in our world and tools and techniques that leverage it, data quality is of the utmost importance. In this lunch and learn, we will discuss what data quality reflects and explore two different dimensions of that: intrinsic data quality and extrinsic data quality. We will also talk about the difference between the conceptual goals of data quality and the designing of guideposts for assessing data quality. This presentation is not necessarily geared toward GIS, but any discussion of data quality fundamentally impacts GIS.
